Hey there!
Thanks for visiting my page. I hope you found the information you were seeking. If not, just shoot me a message and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.
Background:
I was born in Manila, Philippines with Tagalog as my first language. I attended Colegio San Agustin in Makati before moving to San Diego, CA where I began my public school education. In the middle of elementary school, my family moved to Northern California- a small suburb of Sacramento where I finished elementary, middle, and high school.
After high school, I went on to study business [marketing] as a direct admit to the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, Bloomington...go HOOSIERS! I also studied Fashion Marketing & Design at California State University, Sacramento. In December of 2006, I completed the credential program at CSU Sacramento in Family & Consumer Sciences. A few weeks later, I began my career at Miller overhauling the outdated "Home Ec" curriculum into a more current/relevant Consumer Science based program.
I have taught Leadership, Survival Skills (Life Skills/Consumer Education/Finance), 6th Grade Exploratory Wheel (Teen Living/Peer Relationships/Basic Food Prep/Beginning Design & Construction of Home Goods), Fashion & Crafts, Advanced Fashion Design & Construction, Computer Aided Design & Screen Printing/Vinyl Cutting, Child Development & Babysitting Basics, Developmental Phycology of Children, Foods & Nutrition/Dietetics, Food Science, and Culinary Arts. I currently teach an assortment of career and technical education elective courses in grades 6-8 and am a Girls Who Code adviser, state certified Makerspace Coordinator, and STEAM advocate.
